San Diego Eyelid Specialists Blog | How long does upper eyelid blepharoplasty in the office take and do I need to bring someone with me on the day of surgery?

As we perform upper eyelid surgery in the office, under local anesthetic, everyday, the procedure itself does not take as long as the preparation for a pleasant experience. This includes the slow administration of local anesthetic so there is no pain and soothing background music so the patient is relaxed. The entire upper eyelid blepharoplasty experience at San Diego Eyelid Specialists takes about 1 hour. It is important to bring someone with you on the day you are having eyelid surgery. While some patients elect to use a ride-share service, like Uber or Lyft, we recommend bringing a friend or family member. You can drive yourself to all postoperative visits.
