International Awards and Recognition

The Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO) presented Dr. Iyengar with the prestigious Paul Kayser International Scholar Award to study new techniques in eyelid surgery performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

International Seminars

Dr. Iyengar was an invited guest of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand to be a speaker at the Asia-Pacific Association of Ophthalmology annual meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Srinivas Iyengar has been recognized by his eye surgeon peers for his volunteer surgery around the globe. Dr. Iyengar has operated and taught eyelid surgery in over 15 countries. He has served on national committees for global health with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has over a decade of experience working in developing countries with ORBIS International and currently serves as Volunteer Faculty for Oculoplastic Surgery. His eyelid and orbital surgery work in 2019 in Ghana was highlighted on television by 10-News ABC.

Dr. Iyengar has also worked with other volunteer organizations to provide surgical care for people around this world. He and a fellow oculoplastic surgeon in New York City started Lokana, a 501c3 non-profit organization to help provide eye care for the indigenous Chenchu communities in southern Andhra Pradesh, India within India’s largest tiger preserve. The people here have no access to eye care, no running water, and amidst freely roaming tigers. You can read more about this organization at
